Want to make the
most of your audition?
Just follow these simple suggestions...
Always bring a Picture and Resume
Even if you think they have it already, and be prepared for anything.
Confirm your audition with your agent
Don't be afraid to ask questions if you are unsure of anything, and don't wait until the last minute.
Make sure you know where you are going, and arrive 15 minutes early.
No performer should be without a Perlys map book...you can also look up locations at mapquest.ca. If using public transit, give yourself plenty of time.
Listen!
When you are with a Casting Director, try to listen carefully to what they are saying. The better you are at following direction, the better your chances of getting the job.
Always be professional
No matter what happens, or where you are, you need to remember that you represent not only yourself, but your agency as well. Grace and dignity are every bit as important as knowing your lines. When in doubt, be kind.
Know your ACTRA and/or GST number
Bring a business card with your agent's contact information, and write your ACTRA and GST number on the back.
Take care of yourself
Get plenty of rest, drink water, exercise regularly, and limit your junkfood intake. Your body is your instrument, treat it well. Remember...smiling is the quickest way to look and feel your best. |
